5. Account Security

5.1.

UNX is committed to handling our customer information and Personal Data with high standards of information security. We implement industry standard encryption protocols to protect all customer data in transit and at rest against unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification. We maintain security controls in accordance with Applicable Law and best practices to safeguard sensitive information.

5.2.

You acknowledge the importance of taking all necessary measures and precautions to preserve security. All personalized security features elements shall be strictly personal. Your email address, a password that you select and certain additional authentication methods will be used to access our Services. You may also be prompted to answer security questions or use your Login Credentials to authorize any Transactions. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy and security of your Login Credentials and undertake to maintain secrecy and security thereof.

5.3.

UNX representatives will never ask you for your password, so any email, phone call or other communication requesting for your password should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and forwarded to us for further investigation. In this regard, you also undertake:

  • to always use your Login Credentials away from others;

  • to regularly consult your Account to assess it for any suspicious transaction.

5.4.

For security reasons, it is recommended to change your passwords periodically and use multi-factor authentication. You must choose a password of sufficient length and composed, whenever possible, of a combination of letters, numbers and punctuation marks or special characters, and using uppercase and lowercase characters. UNX may, at its discretion, impose an expiry date for passwords beyond which you will not be able to access the Services via the internet without a prior modification of your password.

5.5.

To access the Services of UNX via the internet, you must follow the technical requirements (regarding hardware and software) as may be described by UNX on its UNX website. You shall take all necessary measures to ensure that the technical characteristics of your IT equipment, software and internet connection allow you to access the UNX website in a secure manner.

5.6.

You are fully liable for the proper functioning of your own IT devices and internet access. You shall ensure that such devices do not have any apparent problems or malicious code and provide sufficient security to prevent a risk of any third party gaining access to data pertaining to the provided Services. You will do your best to maintain such security.

5.7.

You shall be liable for the proper use of the Services via the internet in accordance with the technical requirements, security instructions and any other instructions provided by UNX from time to time.

5.8.

You shall be responsible for any damages that you may suffer due to your failure to comply with your undertakings set out herein and, in particular the disclosure of your Login Credentials because of you failing to comply with your obligations. If an issue relating to your Login Credentials occurs, you shall bear any and all losses arising out from your breach.
